Typical response to data requests
1. Overview
Soho Spins respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect when you visit sohospins.com, why we collect it, and how you can control the optional cookies used for analytics and advertising measurement (including Google Consent Mode v2).
We operate under UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). If you think we are falling short of either, please tell us and we will investigate.
2. What we collect
Technical data such as IP address, browser type, approximate location (country/region), referrer URL, and the pages you view on our site.
Interaction data such as which brand cards you click, which FAQ answers you expand, and whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies.
Correspondence data if you email us — we keep the content of your message and our reply for as long as it takes to resolve your request and a short period afterwards for reference.
4. Click identifiers (GCLID)
When you arrive at Soho Spins from a Google ads click, your URL may contain a parameter called gclid. We read that value from the URL only.
We forward the raw gclid value to the partner operator at the moment you click through, so the visit can be attributed correctly. We do not use the gclid to profile you on this site, and we do not tie it to any personal identifier.
5. Third parties
Hosting & CDN: Soho Spins runs on commercial hosting providers with UK/EU data-processing terms in place.
Analytics: when enabled and consented, Google Analytics processes anonymised usage data. IP anonymisation is enabled where supported.
Advertising measurement: with your consent we may use Google Ads and related tags to measure campaign performance.
Operators: when you click through to an operator site, their privacy policy takes over. Please review it before creating an account.
6. Legal bases for processing
Consent — for optional analytics, advertising measurement, and non-essential cookies.
Legitimate interests — for essential site operation, fraud prevention, and responding to your queries.
Legal obligation — where we must retain records (for example to comply with UK advertising or tax rules).
7. How long we keep data
Server logs: up to 90 days for security and debugging.
Consent records (cookie choice): up to 12 months, unless you change your preference sooner.
Email correspondence: up to 24 months after the conversation closes, then deleted or fully anonymised.
8. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port the personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing.
You can withdraw consent for optional cookies at any time without affecting your earlier use of the site.
You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you believe we have mishandled your data.
9. Security
We use HTTPS, least-privilege access controls, and reputable hosting providers. No internet service is 100% secure, so please do not send us sensitive personal data by email without first agreeing a secure channel.
10. Changes to this policy
If we materially change how we use your data we will update the effective date at the top of this page and, where possible, notify you in the cookie banner or via a prominent site notice.
11. Contacting us about privacy
Email support@sohospins.com with enough detail for us to verify your request. We will acknowledge within a reasonable timeframe and, where applicable, respond within the UK GDPR statutory timeframe.
